Down-the-line.com/MMA. Well-known journalist and MMA insider Ariel Helwani says former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had a difficult relationship with a Chechen-born Swede, Khamzat Chimaev. According to the source, Chimaev even quit Dominance MMA agency, as he didn’t want to cross paths with Khabib.

“I know for sure that Khamzat left Dominance MMA because they couldn’t find common ground with Khabib. They were uncomfortable next to each other. But, of course, he better ask Khabib himself about it. I can say for sure that they are not friends. I know that for sure,” Helwani said as quoted by MMA Hour.

Saitiev enjoyed Chimaev’s fight

Nurmagomedov spent 29 fights in his career and won 29 victories there. He retired in October 2020. Chimaev has 12 wins in 12 fights. His final opponent was American Kevin Holland, whom he defeated by chokehold.
