Journalists found out how the negotiations between the Ukrainian WBA champion and the title contender’s team are progressing.
Artem Dalakian may head to Costa Rica for his next match. According to the boxing scene, the Ukrainian is likely to defend his WBA flyweight title there. The opponent is a local undefeated boxer David Jimenez.
It will be remembered that earlier the World Boxing Association ordered the Ukrainian athlete to hold the next fight against this fighter. And on August 31, the organization gave the parties 30 days to agree on the place and date of the battle. According to journalists, the negotiations are going well and the boxing teams hope that they can avoid sending the fight to the auction.
The 34-year-old Dalakyan won the world title in 2018. He fought his last fight in November 2021, when he successfully defended the belt for the fifth time against Luis Concepción.
As for Jimenez, he already has three fights in 2022 and won two of them ahead of schedule. In the last of them, by decision of the judges, a victory was obtained against the American Ricardo Sandoval. This result allowed the Costa Rican to receive the status of a mandatory contender for the WBA belt.
