Athletistic/ Boxing. Yuri Bivol – the father of WBA super champion Dmitry Bivol – commented on his son’s fight with Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, and also shared his thoughts on a possible rematch.
“I’m happy with the fight, the plan worked. Of course, the first four rounds, Dima was a little constrained. We had several plans for the fight: we thought, if it didn’t work out, as we originally wanted, we could get into close combat, torment there, knit, not let boxing. But what happened, as a result, Saul smeared, didn’t punch, was nervous about it. I’ll tell you say of myself: Alvarez will never go to a rematch, I don’t believe there will be a second fight. Alvarez – not a stupid guy,” Bivol Sr said.
Dmitry Bivol defeated Saul Alvarez on the night of May 7-8 in Las Vegas by unanimous decision. The Russian has defended his WBA light heavyweight title for the third time. Bivol never lost in his career, and not once did the fights with his participation end in a draw. The victory over Alvarez was the 20th in Dmitry’s career. Saul has 57 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws.
