Arum: Hearn wanted to kill Fury-Joshua fight from the start

Another accusation against promoter Joshua

Head of Top Rank Bob Arum blamed the promoter Eddie Hearna in the disruption of the fight between the WBC champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs).

“Hearn wanted to kill this fight. He didn’t want the fight to happen from the start, so he slowed down the negotiations. I’ve been in this business for almost 60 years, so I can tell when someone doesn’t want a fight put on, it slows down negotiations. Here, once the percentages were determined, there were no real problems. It was possible to sit in the room for three hours and finish everything, but Hearn refused to do it. I think it was terrible of him because I know that Frank Warren and his associates at Queensberry were willing to meet Eddie in person and sort things out.”

“I knew Eddie would find a way to sabotage the fight. Isn’t it funny when Hearn’s excuse is, “Bob said there was no fight, so it’s not my fault.” What is he talking about? He could sort things out with Frank Warren and set up the fight. But Eddie Hearn has nothing left in his stable, and he clings to AJ as his only potentially attractive client.”

Tyson’s father, John Fury, accused Eddie Hearn of disrupting the Fury-Joshua fight.

Prior to this, Hearn said that the fight between Fury and Joshua is on the verge of collapse. According to Hearn, he did not receive a response from Fury’s team for several days.

Tyson’s father, John Fury, said his son is considering three candidates to replace Joshua: Filip Hrgovic, Andy Ruiz and Luis Ortiz.

On October 3, Fury began preparations for his next fight, which he plans to hold on December 3. At the same time, the rival of the British has not yet been finally determined.
