President of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFCG) Irina Vigner expressed the hope that Russian gymnasts will soon be allowed to participate in international competitions after boxers.
On Wednesday, the board of directors of the International Boxing Association (IBA) voted to admit boxers from Russia and Belarus to competitions under the organization’s auspices with the decision taking immediate effect.
– The admission of Russian boxers to international competitions does not mean anything at all. Don’t rejoice and hope that’s some kind of a good sign. IBAs exist on their own. I would like to believe that gymnasts will soon be admitted, of course. But so far there are no prerequisites for this. It is unlikely that other federations will start doing the same in the near future, – Viner Sport24 quotes the words.
