Parker: Joshua can’t handle Fury’s speed

The New Zealander believes that in the event of an open fight, Anthony will not last longer than the sixth round

New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker believes that the ex-world heavyweight champion has Anthony Joshua no chance in a fight with the WBC champion Tyson Fury. The New Zealander trains with Fury, and notes that Anthony will not be able to cope with the speed and stamina of the “Gypsy King”.

“I never understood how Tyson fights until I started working with him. He has the most powerful engine of any fighter I have ever trained with. He just keeps working and working and working – he doesn’t stop.”

“If Joshua goes into a shootout with punches, I think Tyson will knock him out earlier, before the sixth round. If Joshua is defensive it will be harder to get him out of there, but I really think Tyson will stop him. In the speed of work, Fury will surpass anyone. When you think he is tired, he is not tired. When you think he’s finished, he hasn’t finished yet. He’ll just keep going.”

Parker lost by knockout to Joe Joyce in his last fight. The Briton won the interim WBO heavyweight title. Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who owns the WBO belt, will now be required to defend his title with Joyce.

Fury was supposed to fight Briton Anthony Joshua, but the parties failed to agree on the terms and sign a contract for the fight. Fury’s side says that AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn is to blame for the disruption of the fight.

Tyson has recently started preparing for his next fight. Fury plans to fight next on December 3, while the Brit’s opponent has not yet been finalized.

Fury, after defeating Dillian Whyte in April, announced his retirement twice, but the boxer never vacated the WBC championship belt. On social networks, Tyson has repeatedly discussed a possible fight with the Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk.
