Head of the Lviv Boxing Federation, ex-world champion Andrey Kotelnik stated that he did not see the possibility of eliminating pro-Russian influence in International Boxing Association (IBA), which is headed by the Russian Umar Kremlev. Conscious federations that want to join, I think they will be the majority. They will join, and boxing will be in the Olympics again, not under the auspices of the IOC, but under the auspices of the federation, as it has always been.

Recall that the Board of Directors of the IBA voted to allow boxers from Russia and Belarus to compete in IBA competitions. Earlier, the president of the association, Kremlin, called for this.
Wladimir Klitschko said that with such a decision, the IBA “exposes itself to ridicule.” And the Swedish Boxing Association stated that it would not compete in tournaments to which athletes from Russia and Belarus would be admitted.
Earlier, the IBA suspended the activities of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine. The organization believes that the state bodies of Ukraine are interfering in the work of a sports organization.
