Russian Boxing Federation Tatyana Kiriyenko has announced that the national men’s championship in 2023 will be held in Irkutsk.
On Saturday in Chita the last matches of the Russian championship for men take place. The prize money for the tournament is 26 million rubles. In 2021, the national championship was held in Kemerovo, and in 2020 – in Orenburg.
“It’s no secret that we plan to hold the Russian Championship next year in Irkutsk,” Kirienko told reporters. – They said, “Why invest in vacations?” But it is the development and popularization of sport. We started doing championships with show elements. We are expanding the scope and the boundaries. Sponsors are fighting for the right to sponsor the Russian championship. It is very important. We are followed by the regional federations which organize pan-Russian competitions at the level.
