“Ismailov has more stable movements, similar to boxing. But Ilyich didn’t show anything” – Grigory Drozd

Former WBC World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Grigori Drozd rented Magomed Ismailov for his progress in boxing skills, and also criticized Serbian Alexander Ilic.

In Moscow on Friday, Ismailov defeated Ilich in a six-round unanimous decision in a boxing match. For Ismailov, this is the second victory in the professional ring – in February he beat Nigeria’s Olanrewaja Durodola by unanimous decision in February. Ilic is known to the Russian public for his 20 second victory over Alexander Shlemenko in an MMA fight in August.

— I would like to say good morning to my fellow commentators. They came to five. In my opinion, the fight was not quite spectacular, but the commentators did it by five, handsome men, they took on the full load. It’s like a joke. And more precisely, I assumed that Magomed is sharp and fast, but I want to note that he has become more stable in the position, he has more stable movements, similar to boxing – no failures, blocks , previously there was head- to ground, seems to have fixed it. He used explosions, approached sharply and landed quick, fast blows, so he deservedly won,” Drozd told reporters.

“Ilich didn’t show anything?”

He didn’t show anything. Apparently MMA is still his. We remember when he knocked out Oleksandr Shlemenko with his knee, so that particular shot, arms and legs, is his plus, although he moved well, but, in my opinion, he never even hit. It seemed to me that Magomed was winning every turn, I waited for Ilic to start responding, but he couldn’t respond or didn’t want to, and also failed.
