Frank Warren: We all expected Fury to fight Usyk in December but Usyk was unavailable

Everything is going to the fact that Tyson will fight against Chisora again

Frank Warrenco-promoter, WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury commented on his possible fights against Derek Chisora and WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“We have struggled to find an opponent and we have the highest ranked opponent, which is Derek Chisora.”

“We were just trying to find someone and it was very difficult. The thing is, Tyson is going to have one fight this year and we all expected Usyk to fight in December, but Usyk was unavailable.”

“I hope the fight with Usyk will be somewhere in February. Tyson wants to fight before then, so we don’t discount Chisora.”

Recall that Fury and Chisora can hold a face-to-face fight on December 3 in Cardiff. Representatives of the boxers agreed on all the terms of the fight. The official announcement of the fight should take place in the near future.

For Fury and Chisora, this will be the third face-to-face confrontation in their careers. Before that, the Gypsy King defeated Derek twice – in 2011 and 2014.

Earlier, Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, said that there is an opportunity to fight Fury in February 2023. Usik, according to Klimas, went to the front line to support the Ukrainian military, and in two weeks he will be ready to start training.

Recall that Fury was supposed to fight with Briton Anthony Joshua, but the parties failed to agree on the terms and sign a contract for the fight. Fury’s side says that AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn is to blame for the disruption of the fight.

Fury, after defeating Dillian Whyte in April, announced his retirement twice, but the boxer never vacated the WBC championship belt. On social networks, Tyson has repeatedly discussed a possible fight with Usyk.

In his last fight for the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title, Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua. Following the results of all twelve rounds, Alexander defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.

Immediately after defeating Anthony in a rematch, Usyk challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury to a fight. Then the Ukrainian said that the fight against Fury in December is impossible.
