UFC Featherweight Champion Alex Volkanovski via social media announced that he has officially been given reserve fighter status for the title fight between lightweights Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira.
The Australian will have to replace one of the fighters in case one of them, for a number of reasons, cannot enter the fight.
– It’s official. I’m a reserve fighter for the lightweight title! See you in Abu Dhabi,” Volkanovski wrote.
The fight between Makhachev and Oliveira is scheduled for October 22 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Makhachev’s professional record in MMA is 22 wins and 1 loss. Oliveira is on an 11-game winning streak.
