UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou may not return until next year

Xtreme Couture room representative Mikhail Tsirkunov told that the current UFC champion Francois Ngannou has already started training, but has not yet fought.

Tsirkunov (15-8 in MMA) and Ngannou (17-3) train at the same gym in Las Vegas and have fought multiple times.

– Until I see him fight a full-fledged fight, he has his own specific tasks in training. If I understand correctly, he is moving forward on a clear recovery program. Naturally, this year he will not fight again, we will see him next. It seems like in this UFC, the last show is December 10, and it’s too close to today’s date,” Cirkunov said in an interview with .

Ngannou previously defended the heavyweight championship against Cyril Gan on January 22, but suffered a knee ligament injury and was out indefinitely. Representatives of the fighter also reported difficult negotiations between the champion and the management of the UFC.

Cirkunov competes in light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and will fight next at the show on October 15 in Las Vegas.
