Ukrainians do not like to indicate themselves in such ratings
Former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko named his own five best lightweights in the world.
“Top 5 lightweights? OK, no problem. I never liked this question, because you have to include yourself in the rating. I do not like it. I need to name myself in this top list. I can’t explain it.”
“Haney, Davis, possibly Isaac Cruz, Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson. You know, I’ll probably put Stevenson in third place. So Haney, Davis, Stevenson, Cruz and Ryan.”
Recall that the Ukrainian boxer will return to the ring on October 29. Lomachenko’s fight with Jemaine Ortiz will take place at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Vasily could have fought George Kambosos, but he refused it against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
