Ukrainian previously sparred with his future opponent
Former world champion in three weight categories Basil Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) shared his opinion about his future opponent American Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs). The Ukrainian has previously sparred with Ortiz and knows his style.
“I just do my job. As always, I want to show my best style, my best skills and do my best. You understand that Ortiz is a difficult opponent, because you understand boxing. I sparred with this guy, he is very good, very technical, with speed, a sense of distance.”
Recall that the Ukrainian boxer will return to the ring on October 29. Lomachenko’s fight with Jemaine Ortiz will take place at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Vasily could have fought George Kambosos, but he refused it against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
