In a press conference, Dana White was very uncomfortable with the statements of the former UFC champion and gave a harsh response to the Brazilian fighter
After learning about the controversy, the president Dana White opened the game on the allegations made by the fighter Anderson Silvawho claimed to have left the UFC on account of the actions of the organization’s representative. According to the former champion, the manager would have incited his retirement while he was still fighting in MMA.
With the controversy already established, Dana White was asked about the topic and did not show much patience. In a press conference after UFC 274, the director denied that he had caused Anderson Silva’s departure and made it clear that the organization is always open to the return of the former champion.
CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC:
“Anderson Silva, what the f*** Anderson Silva is talking about? When you heard me speak negatively, except for the fight in Abu Dhabi [embate com Demian Maia em 2010], about Anderson Silva? Never! Not only that, we let the guy fight his entire contract, he’s lost seven of his last eight, or eight of his last nine fights” snapped Dana White.
“I don’t know where that came from, then he made it sound like I don’t want him to make money later. I said, ‘Jake Paul wants to fight someone, face Anderson Silva, he’s available.’ And he is 47 years old! It’s bizarre to me. He wants to come to fights, absolutely. This is his house if he wants to. This came out of nowhere for me”, added the UFC president.
DANA WHITE X ANDERSON SILVA!
In a recent interview with the website “SportsNaut”, Anderson Silva spoke out against the attitudes of Dana White and some other important people in the UFC. According to the fighter, his career was not respected at any time, since the organization’s president would have prompted his retirement at various times.
“When I ended up in the UFC, everyone – especially Dana White – said, ‘Oh, Anderson can’t fight anymore. Nobody Anderson’s age can fight, it’s terrible’, and talking a lot of shit about me. I feel disrespected because no matter what happened, fight is fight. You can win or lose (…)”, said Anderson Silva.
“When you’re successful, what you need to do for your fighters is respect. I didn’t feel any respect. But I don’t care, because when I stop fighting, I’m going to stop because I said so. Nobody can tell me to stop. Nobody can say ‘you have to stop now’. I will stop when I decide”, concluded the Brazilian fighter.
