Wilder: Usyk will attend our fight with Helenius – he says he wants to fight the winner

The winner of the fight Wilder – Helenius will be the mandatory contender for the duel with the Ukrainian

Former world champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) set to fight against WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

“Many people said they wanted to fight me, but then, when the time came, they went the other way. I asked about Usyk, and they told me that he was a man of his word. Let’s see what happens if I win.”

“For Robert Helenius, the fight with me is a big fight, after which he can be in a winning situation. If he wins, he will be the mandatory challenger for Usyk.”

“Some of us can fight Usyk. Alexander will attend our fight – he says he wants to fight the winner. So the next battle could be a title fight, especially if Usyk is a man of his word. I know a couple of people who are close to him. They vouched for him, so we’ll see what happens next.”

Wilder will face Robert Helenius on October 15 in Brooklyn. Oleksandr Usyk plans to attend this fight. The Ukrainian has previously said that Wilder could be his next opponent.

In his last fight for the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua. Following the results of all twelve rounds, Alexander defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.
