Athletistic/ MMA. Russian mixed martial arts fighter Islam Makhachev (22-1-0) has spoken of his desire to fight in multiple weight classes before ending his fighting career.

“You have to defend the lightweight title at least 3-4 times first. I will move up to another weight when I see a certain situation in my division. I will try to fight in other weight classes for the ‘legacy,” Makhachev said.

On October 22, Islam will face Brazilian Charles Oliveira (33-8-0 (1)) for the UFC lightweight title. The fight will be the main event of UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Makhachev has won his last 10 fights. Oliveira’s winning streak is 11 fights.
