The Ukrainian world heavyweight champion will help rebuild a war-torn country.
Oleksandr Usyk became United24 Ambassador. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his traditional video message.
According to the head of state, the WBO, IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO world heavyweight champion will help rebuild the country destroyed by the invasion of the Kremlin invaders.
“Olexandr Usyk has become the new United24 Ambassador. I just spoke to him and thanked him for his willingness to work for Ukraine.
Alexander will focus on projects aimed at restoring our country, especially in the Kyiv region,” Zelensky said.
Recall that in addition to Oleksandr Usyk, United24 ambassadors are other famous athletes of Ukraine – tennis player Elina Svitolina, as well as former football player and coach Andriy Shevchenko.
Earlier, Andriy Shevchenko spoke at the Ballon d’Or ceremony and urged the world not to forget about the war in Ukraine.
