At the pre-fight press conference at UFC 280 petr yan talked about two clashes against the American Aljamain Sterling organized in 2021 and 2022.
According to Jan, he won in each of the fights: in the first the Russian was disqualified for an illegal knee, in the second he lost by decision in a very competitive five-round fight.
“I won two fights with Sterling. The first is unconditional, the second is closer, but I have confidence in myself and I want to fight this fight. Now there is no conflict with him , but if we come back to fight with Sterling, we will have a different attitude, different emotions,” Yan said during a pre-tournament media day.
Petr Yan (16 wins, 3 losses) will face American Sean O’Malley (15-1) at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. Previously, the Russian was the owner of the UFC champion belt in the category up to 61.2 kg.
