The 41-year-old boxer has not entered the ring since May 2021
American boxer Chris Arreola (38–7–1 (2), 33 KOs) publicly challenged ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs). The 41-year-old American confirmed that his team is in talks with the British side.
“[Поединок с Джошуа] is one of the things we are working on. I will accept this fight – I like it! Joshua, don’t be a bitch!”
“I’m a fighter, I love to fight, so let’s fight. Let’s do it – here, where you want.”
Arreola has not entered the ring since May 2021, when he lost to Andy Ruiz. It was Arreola’s second loss in a row, including a fight against Adam Kownacki in 2019. The American suffered his first defeat in his career in 2009, losing the fight for the WBC champion title to Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko.
Earlier, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced his readiness to make a deal with any of the top 15 boxing ratings. Hearn considered options for Wallin, Joe Joyce. Another contender for the bout with the British heavyweight is 39-year-old Chinese Zhang Zhilei.
In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Anthony has been in talks with WBC champion Tyson Fury for a fight in late 2022. However, the parties could not agree on the final details of the contract.
