The verdict of 26 publications, including popular resources Sherdog and ESPN, was published by the MMA Decisions portal. 19 analysts and judges gave the victory to Yan with a score of 29-28, 7 others considered that Peter had won with a score of 30-27.
However, the verdict of the official fight judges was different: Sean O’Malley won by split decision – 29-28, 29-28, 28-29. The fight took place on October 22 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as part of the UFC 280 tournament and was recognized as the “fight of the evening”.
Now Petr Yan has 16 wins, 4 losses, 0 draws in professional MMA. Sean O’Malley’s stats are 16 wins, 1 loss, 0 draw, 1 no fight.
