Head of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili urged not to look for sensations in the possible departure of Dzambolat Tedeev from the position of head coach of the national team.
Tedeev earlier in an interview with RIA Novosti Sport said he was removed from the rosters for receiving salaries.
– The situation with the head coach of the national team? What is the situation there? Maybe there is something I don’t know? Nobody took Dzambolat Ilyich out of his salary – how can we do this with a well-deserved person close to us? We are in close contact, we consult constantly. In today’s difficult situation, in which all Russian sports find themselves, including wrestling, his qualities will help to improve our level.
Tedeev can deal more fundamentally with the reserve, the regional federations. The latter, to be honest, often vegetate in an unacceptable state that does not correspond to the status of our organization. Work at sea – there would be a desire. Tedeev will take care of all this? And where will he go? Of course it will.
Our organization is on an evolutionary path, and there is no need for thrill seeking here. We are not football, God bless them. It’s just that some people who are not related to our sport sometimes like to remember themselves. And they themselves sit somewhere at a good table and raise another toast. You have to remember with desire, responsibility,” Mamiashvili told .
Mamiashvili added that the executive committee of the Federation will be held this week, the agenda of which also includes the issue of the head coach.
