The former world champion in three weight categories wants revenge on the American he gave his titles to.

Vasily Lomachenko does not believe in the possibility of a rematch with Teofimo Lopez, who defeated him in October 2020.

Recall that the American boxer, after meeting with the Ukrainian, lost his titles to Kambosos and changed his weight category.

Lomachenko doesn’t see an opportunity to fight Lopez again, at least not in the near future.

“Of course, a rematch would be interesting. The question now is what weight. We know very well that Lopez is unlikely to drop down to lightweight now. As for my rise, right now I have a lot of interesting fighters in my weight category. So in the next year or two, I don’t think our rivalry is possible.

I will continue my career for more than two years. I just said that I have many opportunities in lightness. There are enough warriors here to fight them for the next two years. So I don’t have to step up to fight Lopez. And he can’t come down here. But I’m not saying anything about retirement in the near future,” Lomachenko told Yahoo! Sports.

In the past, Vasily Lomachenko also named two of his most favorable lightweight contenders.
