The interim WBO world champion in the heavyweight division wants to meet the Ukrainian boxer.
Joe Joyce wants to step into the ring against WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF title holder Oleksandr Usyk. The British boxer recalled that he is an interim WBO champion, which means he has the right to meet the Ukrainian.
At the same time, Joyce is sure that if the fight takes place, he will definitely emerge victorious.
“It makes me want to kick his ass next. I’m going for the titles. Usyk had a brilliant fight. It was a really dominant, great performance. He deserves it.
I haven’t seen him face to face for a long time. It will be nice to see him. I’m looking forward to this match and see how it goes. I am interim WBO champion.
If he fights Fury, that means I will be the undisputed champion. I can challenge anyone. I would love to have this rematch. Great fight, I think I’m going to kick his ass,” Joyce was quoted as saying by boxingscene.com.
It will be recalled that the boxers met in 2013 in a semi-professional boxing league and then won by decision of the judges.
It was previously known that the World Boxing Organization (WBO) recognized Oleksandr Usyk as the boxer of the year.
