The next Alexander Emelianenko fight (28 wins, 9 losses) will take place in the Arena promotion against Sergey Yerkaev on November 6. Erkaev is the creator of the promotion and, therefore, the creator of the fight against Alexander under the original rules. Since November 2019, seven of Emelianenko’s eight fights have/will take place under different rules: boxing, MMA, non-wrestling MMA, punches, exhibition boxing, small ring sparring. And now Emelianenko will face Yerkaev in MMA gloves in the form of three rounds of three minutes each with a 20-second clearance on the ground.
– Do you remember the day, the hour, the minute when the idea came to you to make a fight against Emelianenko?
– When I realized that the fight with Alfredo (probably Auditore, a popular blogger. – “”), most likely, would not happen, I began to sort through all possible options so that I could get the maximum hype of a fight: media and at the same time to have a sports component. I consider Alexandre to be a very dangerous opponent, he hits, heavy, for me it’s a challenge. Everything happened quickly. I remember that in the afternoon I wrote to Nikita, Alexander’s manager, and the next morning we were already in our office and signed a contract.
– Do you understand that no matter how fun this all looks, it can end up breaking your jaw, face bone, whatever?
– A rolling stone gathers no moss. I am not afraid of that, I will approach the fight with a cool head realizing that there is a risk of injury. It does not scare me, because I have been a fighter in my life, I have been training since childhood. I had different injuries, I received and beat a lot. It’s my element, I’m interested.

– There were different knockouts: hands, feet. At Russian competitions, they broke their hands.
– What are your rules?
– Standard MMA rules, but with a floor time limit of 20 seconds, the format is three rounds of three minutes. Gloves are standard.
– What do you think, how much weight will you have with Alexander?
– He will be 113 or 115 kg, maybe. I will do 100 kg. This is how much I weigh.
– Don’t you think that Alexander has problems on the pitch, and if he is translated, then with a little preparation, can you try to make some kind of reception?
“If it comes to that, yes, but I’m not focusing on that. I want to focus on moving, throwing up, trying hard on the body, then moving on to the head. If I understand that I can fight, then I will show all the beauty that I can do. I will kick hard with my feet, and in the lower part, and in the body, and with my elbows, maybe I will work. If I understand that it is possible to walk the full distance, and it is also possible, then I will.
– Who will you have around and what do they tell you about the fight with Alexander?
— There will be my coach and matchmaker from our league Arsen Parkhugadzhiev, my close friend. They tell me that we will have to do everything that was planned.
“The second second?”
We will see before deciding. It may be a pleasant surprise for the public. I mean who they will be.
– With whom do you train for wrestling?
– We train in grappling and wrestling with Arsen, but we bring different training partners to my gym, we work with them. But still, by attacking to a lesser extent, it is unlikely to come to that.
– Do you think you can ruin Alexander’s career if he loses to you?
“Unfortunately or fortunately, it is a fact. I’m going to drive the final nail in Emelianenko. It will be the end of his career.
– Who of the parents will come to fight?
– Everyone: wife, children, parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Friends will come to support us.
– Do you think that after signing the contract there was not a single day when you did not think that you should fight Emelianenko?
– It’s a powerful motivation, because you don’t give yourself the chance not to give your best in training. But I don’t make it any super important event. More important is the preparation. The more prepared I am now, the easier it will be for me that day.
