Boxer Bogachuk: Now I am 90% focused on boxing and 10% on the war in Ukraine

November 3 Bogachuk will return to the ring

Ukrainian middleweight Sergei Bogachuk (20-1, 20 KOs) commented on his return to the ring after a long pause. The boxer stressed that he would fight for the honor of the Ukrainian people.

“Right now I feel happy, I’m hungry. I want to fight. I had a year without a fight and it upset me; it’s not good for me. I want to box, I want to train, I need good sparring. I have been without serious boxing for a long time, and it bores me. I want to fight. But now I’m very happy because I’m back, I have a fight and I have a good opponent.”

“I have a good situation for the fight, I am concentrated and in good shape. I have enough practice in boxing, and for me boxing is life. I have been boxing maybe 15 or 16 years. This is my job. Right now my focus is 90% on boxing and 10% on Ukraine and the war. I need to get into the ring, win the fight, and after that I will think about Ukraine and my family.”

“My victory is the good support of the people, the support of the army. Oleksandr Usyk beat Anthony Joshua and it was a very good support for the army and the people. After his fight, everyone was determined to win. We are winners”.

On November 3, Bogachuk will fight American Aaron Kohli (16-4-1, 7 KOs). The 10-round fight will take place in the USA. The WBC Continental Americas title will be at stake.

In his last fight, the Ukrainian defeated American Rafael Igbokwe by technical knockout. Bogachuk’s only defeat was inflicted by Brandon Adams in March last year.
