The fight took place on May 14 in Carson, California, USA. In it, Charlo defended the WBC, WBA Super and IBF world titles, and Castaño defended the WBO world title.
Jermell beat his opponent by 10th-round technical knockout, defending his three championship belts and winning the title that belonged to Castaño. Charlo is the first boxer in history to win the title of absolute world champion in the 1st middleweight division.
