The Ukrainian welterweight boxer will not fight for the title against Kazakh Daniyar Yeleussinov.

Taras Shelestyuk will not be able to fight for the world title in his next fight. It should be noted that a meeting between the Ukrainian welterweight and the holder of the IBO title, the Kazakh Daniyar Yeleussinov was previously planned.

However, as it happened, the opposing team refused to meet with Shelestyuk. The Ukrainian boxer himself spoke about this in an interview with Sports.kz.

“I will be angry with you because the fight with Daniyar will not take place – due to the fact that Yeleusinov refused to fight. I was ready for the fight in December and our teams started negotiations – and then I received an SMS from his team that Daniyar does not box me.

Daniyar and his group refused to fight. Although I had hoped to meet the new year with the rank of IBO world champion. Apparently, Daniyar still wanted to keep the belt, and therefore refused to fight.

Daniyar is a great fighter with great amateur achievements. It’s going to be a nice and bright match. I know how to box him to beat him. I beat Serik Sapiyev, and he is stronger than Daniyar Yeleussinov,” said Shelestyuk.

It can be remembered that Shelestyuk previously sold gloves with Mayweather’s signature to raise money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
