The fight between Usyk and Fury may take place at the end of the winter of 2023

Another option is also being considered – in the first week of March

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk can hold a face-to-face battle in late February – early March 2023.

“I think everyone on Fury’s side thinks so. And since Aegis [Климас, менеджер Усика] – my good friend – and, by the way, Usyk too – I know that they think so. So I don’t see any obstacles to having this fight somewhere before Ramadan. This is what Tyson wants to do and this is what Usyk wants to do. So it would be crazy not to have this fight either in the last week of February or the first week of March,” said promoter Bob Arum.

Arum also mentioned Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as countries that could host the fight between Fury and Usyk.

“These fights are dangerous because you are heavyweight and these big guys. In general, they all have amazing [силой]”, Arum emphasized.

Usyk challenged Fury after defeating Anthony Joshua. Soon, the Ukrainian said that it was impossible to fight Tyson this year. Promoter Alexander Krasyuk said that the working date of the Usyk-Fury fight is February 18.

Promoter Frank Warren has said that the Ukrainian will be Fury’s next opponent after the Brit’s fight with Derek Chisora, which is scheduled for December 3. The same thesis was confirmed by Tyson himself, who announced his readiness to fight the Ukrainian after the fight with Derek. In addition, the Gypsy King has announced three fights for 2023.

The position of the IBF, which believes that the fight between the Ukrainian and the mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic, is a higher priority than sanctioning the unification fight between Usyk and Fury, can hinder the organization of the battle between Usyk and Fury.
