The two-time Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling champion says the Russian team has no shortage of starts

Russia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team no shortage of competition in terms of international competition suspension, double Olympic champion says Roman Vlasov .

In early March, the United World of Wrestling (UWW), following the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), suspended Russian athletes from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.

– We review all training camps and competitions that are on the schedule. The Federation has created all the conditions so that we can constantly participate in competitions. This is the Poddubny League, the Russian championship. Also, tomorrow our teams are leaving for a tournament in Belarus, where there will be team competitions.

We are not short of departures. Of course, there are not enough international starts, but every athlete’s dream is the Olympics, so we believe, hope and expect good news. The team is operational. I am sure that, like in a pandemic, this will all end and we will return to the arena in combat composition,” Vlasov said in an interview with Metaratings.ru.
