Negotiations between the parties are ongoing
Bill Haneyfather and coach of the undisputed lightweight champion Devina Haneysaid that fight will be announced soon his son against the ex-world champion in three divisions Vasily Lomachenko.
“I think we can announce the fight soon. If I knew the date, I still wouldn’t say anything, because it’s not my job to announce it. My job is to try and communicate it.”
Earlier, Egis Klimas, Lomachenko’s manager, said that the organization of the fight between the Ukrainian and Haney continues.
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. For the Ukrainian, this was the first fight in the last 10 months. According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave the victory to Lomachenko – 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111.
Devin has repeatedly stated his readiness to face Lomachenko in the ring. In his last fight, Haney re-defeated George Kambosos and retained the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
