Most likely, the fight between the boxers will take place in 2023
Frank Warrenpromoter of the WBC World Heavyweight Championship tyson fury, commented on the possible fight between the Briton and the world heavyweight champion WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO Oleksandr Usyk.
“You know we all want to see the fight [Фьюри] with Usyk. And me too. I would like to give Tyson the opportunity to prove what he has already proved. But I would be happy if he won all the belts. That would be a great achievement for his resume.”
“And I would also like to see him [Фьюри] fight with Joe [Джойсом]because it’s a great fight, a clash of styles.”
Note that Fury himself does not want the IBF belt to be at stake in the battle with Usyk. The International Boxing Federation has appointed Croatian Filip Hrgovic as the mandatory contender for the title, and the Briton does not intend to pay the IBF fine for not defending the belt.
Recall that in December, Fury defeated Chisora and retained the WBC world heavyweight title. After the fight, Fury called Usyk into the ring. The boxers also had a duel of looks in the ring.
Fury planned his next fight against Usyk in February-March 2023. However, Fury’s injury may affect the timing of the fight with Usyk: Tyson injured his hand in the fight with Chisora and he will need 6-8 weeks to recover.
