The leadership of the World Boxing Association made a strange decision regarding the aggressor countries.
Russian athletes have nothing to do with the war against Ukraine. So for some reason they decided on the leadership of the World Boxing Association. The WBA even issued an official press release on this occasion, in which it whitewashed the boxers from the aggressor countries and reinstated them in their ratings.
“The WBA, through its championship committee and rating committee, issued a statement in which it decided to restore the Russian and Belarusian boxers to their places in the rankings,” the organization said in a statement.
According to the WBA, the athletes from the aggressor country and its accomplice are not directly related to the war unleashed by the Russians against Ukraine.
Athletes from this country are not military and not part of the government, so they are not associated with the war against Ukraine.
However, it was determined that any fighter who spoke in support or participated in the war would be removed immediately.

Remember that Russians and Belarusians were not included in the WBA ratings immediately after the start of a mass invasion, in March 2022.
Prior to this, the WBA also designated Usyk as the mandatory challenger for the title defense.
