Ukraine has a historic opportunity to end the rule of Putin’s terrorist regime in Russia. This is what former world boxing champion Vitali Klitschko said at the economic forum in Davos.

The mayor of Kyiv once again called on the world community not to stop and continue helping Ukraine in its fight against the aggression of the occupying forces.

“The civilized world, democratic states must have a single, clear and unshakable position on actions to prevent the Russian aggressor. After all, the barbarism brought by Russia threatens not only the state of Ukraine, but also to the security and peace of Europe and the whole democratic world.

I emphasize this in all my meetings in Davos. And, in particular, today during a speech at a lunch traditionally organized by the American edition of The Washington Post. This event brings together influential American and world politicians and business representatives around the world.

Ukraine faces a historic challenge because we are defending not only our land and our freedom. Our country has become the center of the global struggle between democracy and dictatorship. And we have a historic opportunity to defeat Putin and his regime. Otherwise, after a while, he will hit again. And not only in Ukraine. Therefore, support for Ukraine, assistance for its success are the vital interests of the United States and the West.

Each of Ukraine’s partners must make significant efforts: first of all, to provide modern weapons for the defense and liberation of Ukraine. Provide financial, economic and humanitarian assistance. Also, the aggressor needs to increase the pressure with penalties. First of all, to introduce an oil and gas embargo, ”Klitschko wrote.
