Fury – White. Five reasons to watch the duel of a potential rival Usyk or the farewell tour of the Gypsy King

What you need to know about the main match of April

On Saturday night at London’s Wembley Stadium, current WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury and interim World Boxing Council champion Dillian Whyte will face each other for a full-fledged title of the organization in the Royal Division. Sport Arena names five reasons why you can’t miss the main fight of April.

The status of boxers and interest in the fight

After the Fury-Wilder trilogy and the Usyk-Joshua fight, the Fury-White fight is the most status fight in the heavyweight division. Fury, with all due respect to Usyk and the results of the Ukrainian, is the unconditional first number of the division. White is the third or fourth number of the rating: depending on how you evaluate Anthony Joshua now.

For two, White and Fury have 62 fights in the professional ring, of which 59 wins. Fury once defeated Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder (twice), White dealt with Chisora, Parker and Povetkin. The increase in the capacity of Wembley to 94 thousand spectators is a clear indicator of interest in the fight.

Styles make fights

The main postulate of success or, more precisely, the level of interest in any boxing match. Fury and White are diverse fighters, which already suggests intrigue.

Tyson Fury is a pronounced game player, unusually technical for his size, and a plastic boxer with excellent timing and a clear sense of the rhythm of the fight. White is a boxing bulldozer who goes ahead, loves and knows how to work at medium and close distances. At the same time, the strength of the chins is not the strongest side of both Britons: Fury had several knockdowns in the trilogy with Deontay Wilder, White was knocked out in fights with Povetkin and Joshua.

But still there is one thing that somehow goes out of sight. Speaking about Fury’s advantage in purely boxing skills, everyone somehow forgets that White is also a fairly trained and good boxer. Yes, his amateur career is short-lived and certainly not the most outstanding (although he defeated Joshua), but he has vast experience in kickboxing and K-1. White is significantly superior in boxing terms to Wilder, and in character and will to win he is definitely not inferior to the American.

Possibly Fury’s last fight

Yes, the Gypsy King once again declared that the future fight would be his last in the professional ring. Of course, Fury does not believe in this matter – he left boxing for a long time only after the victory over Wladimir Klitschko and the moral exhaustion that followed it, problems with doping and drugs, as well as prolonged depression. Fury announced that he was leaving boxing before every fight with Wilder, but in the end he stayed.

However, now there is reason to believe that Fury will implement his statement. According to him, he has enough money, he has satisfied his ambitions, and the decision on the only remaining issue – the fight for the status of Britain’s strongest heavyweight of the current time with Anthony Joshua – seems to have shifted for a long time, given the defeat of AJ by Usyk and a rematch with the Ukrainian . And, in fact, the fight with White, who, as mentioned above, is now quoted no lower than Joshua, is in principle a good alternative to determining the best in Foggy Albion.

Potential rival Usyk

Everything is extremely simple here. The winner of the Fury-White fight will be with the WBC belt, which is missing in the collection of the Ukrainian. If Usyk defeats Joshua in a rematch as well, it will only be a matter of time before a fight for undisputed heavyweight title is set up.

If Usyk loses, then the option cannot be ruled out in which in the next fight he will fight with Fury-White, who lost in the fight. Especially if it turns out to be Dillian.

Quality fight

Fury and White don’t know how to fight unspectacularly. The first – due to his skill, charisma and acting data, almost every fight turns into a bright show (even in a boring fight with Wladimir Klitschko, Fury tried to play in front of the audience, simultaneously driving the Ukrainian out of himself). The second is due to his style and character: Dillian not only does not avoid cutting, but is looking for it, exchanges are his element. White even lost brightly – in the wheelhouse with Joshua and an enchanting knockout in a duel with Povetkin.

In other words, tonight will definitely not be boring.
