Saul Alvarez shouldn’t get rematch with Dmitry Bivol, says Roy Jones

Former undisputed light heavyweight champion Roy Jones Jr. in a conversation with , he said that the Mexican Saul Alvarez recklessly pursuing revenge with a Russian Dmitry Bivol .

In May 2022, Bivol defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision in Las Vegas and handed the Mexican the second defeat of his career. In 2013, Canelo lost to American Floyd Mayweather. Bivol defended his WBA (Super) light heavyweight belt in a duel with Alvarez. Canelo is currently the undisputed super middleweight champion. The contract for the May fight included the option of a rematch in case Bivol won, but the Mexican team has yet to officially use it. However, Alvarez himself has repeatedly stated his desire to hold a second fight.

Canelo shouldn’t fight Bivol a second time. It’s just not big enough for that. Plus, he struggled to resist Bivol’s style, so better not do it, Roy Jones told .
