In May, Canelo lost to Dmitry by decision of the judges
The absolute world champion in the second middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez assured that he would have one more fight against the holder of the WBA Super light heavyweight title Dmitry Bivol.
In May, Canelo lost to Bivol by unanimous decision. This is the second defeat of the Mexican in his career.
“I will definitely try again. I am very persistent. I tried to gain weight and win this title, but we failed. But we’ll try again,” Canelo said.
“Only before the second fight I will try to come in much better physical shape, prepare for 12 rounds. There will be a different strategy than what I used with my opponents in super middleweight. You can learn from everything. I tried something new and it didn’t work, but now we have a new plan for what’s to come.”
Alvarez will fight next on September 17 against Gennady Golovkin. This will be the third fight between the boxers. The first fight ended in a draw, and Saul won the second by majority decision.
