Promoter Warren: If Joyce wins the next fight, we will definitely organize a duel with Parker

The fight between the Englishman and the New Zealander will not take place in July

Promoter Frank Warren said that Joe Joyce expects to hold the next fight on July 2.

On this date, the Englishman was scheduled to fight against ex-world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, but the New Zealander will not be able to enter the ring in the summer.

Warren noted that the organization of the fight with Parker remains in force, but Joyce must definitely hold an intermediate fight until then.

“Everything has been delayed. It seemed that we did it and the guys will meet in July. But there was a problem that led to the fact that Parker could not fight. It’s all about his coach Andy Lee. He’s due to have a baby, presumably sometime in the week of the fight, so he can’t train Joseph,” Warren said.

“We had to reschedule the fight to September but then we thought it was too much downtime for Joe. So, now we are looking for an opponent for him. Hopefully we can fix things within 24-48 hours and announce the fight on July 2nd.”

“If Joyce wins, then we will definitely organize a duel with Parker. Its not our fault. We wanted the fight, Joe wanted the fight, but unfortunately Parker is not available.”

Joyce fought his last fight in July last year when he defeated Carlos Takam by TKO in the sixth round.
