The American will fight with the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan on January 7
American welterweight boxer Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) stated that his ultimate goal is to win world champion belts. The American considers the duel against the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-1, 11 KOs) as another step towards his dream.
“It’s all about fighting the best. I want to fight all the best guys and the guys everyone knows. But things don’t always go the way they should.”
“I feel like I just need to keep winning and do my thing. The fight on January 7th is another step towards securing these titles. Maybe I need to talk a little more, but I’m a really vicious dog who just loves to bite.”
“At the end of the day, patience and timeliness are key and you have to wait your turn like everyone else. As I said, everyone has a different reward in relation to the world title, and my journey just takes a little longer. But I know it will happen and I know I will be champion soon.”
Jaron, after his victory over Castio Clayton, became a contender for the championship fight with Errol Spence for the IBF title. However, Spence is scheduled to fight WBC mandatory challenger Keith Thurman.
Chukhadzhyan vs. Ennis will take place on January 7 in Washington DC. In the main fight of the evening of boxing, the holder of the WBA Regular lightweight title Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) and the undefeated Dominican Hector Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs) will meet.
Chukhadzhyan had his last fight in early July. Karen defeated Australian Blake Minto to defend his IBF Inter-Continental title.
