The fight ended in the third round with a technical knockout.
American boxer David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) won by technical knockout over an opponent from Canada David Lemieux (43-5, 36 KOs).
The fight took place at the Gila River Arena in Arizona. 25-year-old Benavidez stopped 33-year-old Lemieux in the third round, pinning his opponent in the corner and landing a huge number of punches, which forced the referee to intervene.
Benavidez won the interim WBC super middleweight title. The American remains invincible in the professional ring.
Recall that previously David Benavidez was already a world champion after defeating Anthony Dirrell, but then lost the WBC belt, failing to meet the weight before the fight with Roamer Alexis Angulo.
For Lemieux, the defeat was the first since 2017, when he lost to Billy Joe Saunders of Great Britain.
