Warren: We sent Usyk’s team draft contract to fight Fury

The promoter said that the fight will take place where they pay more money.

Frank Warren, British promoter of the WBC World Championship Tyson Furysaid that his team sent a draft contract for the fight for the title of absolute world champion to the owner of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO belts Oleksandr Usyk.

“We sent them a draft contract. Now we need to deal with this very quickly, because time is against us.”

“We know that this fight can attract in the UK, but if it takes place somewhere else, then it depends on the numbers. I know a lot of people are complaining about this and I agree that the fight should go to Wembley. I would like to see the fight there.”

“But Muhammad Ali and George Foreman fought in Zaire, then there was Thriller in Manila, there were big fights in Jamaica. They went where the money was and these guys will do the same.”

A unification fight between Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury could take place in February or March of this year. Promoter Alexander Krasyuk said that the most effective working date for the fight with Fury is March 4th.

Promoter Frank Warren said Usyk-Fury could have a rematch clause. The date of the fight may be affected by the Brit’s injury received in the duel with Derek Chisora.
