The American, in turn, noted the courage of the Ukrainian boxer
Ukrainian welterweight boxer Karen Chukhadzhyan commented on the defeat in the battle for the status of a mandatory contender for the IBF championship belt against the American Jaron Ennis.
“He had a different level of speed than I’m used to. Although I’m not making excuses. I wish I could do more to hurt him,” the Ukrainian said.
Ennis, in turn, noted the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian. The American for the first time in his professional career spent all 12 rounds in the ring.
“I have learned to just take it slow. I’m glad I got 12 rounds. That was great. I felt that I was in the best shape. I just needed to throw a little more punches.”
“He ran a lot. I take my hat off to him because a lot of guys didn’t want to fight me. So thank him for coming here and taking this fight,” Ennis said.
The fight took place in Washington on the undercard duel between Gervonta Davis and Hector Luis Garcia. The judges unanimously gave Ennis all rounds (three times 120-108).
The last fight before the fight against Ennis Chukhadzhyan held in early July last year. Karen defeated Australian Blake Minto to defend his IBF Intercontinental Championship.
