Russian UFC fighter Irina Alexeeva told MMA.Metaratings.ru that she considers the wife of the head of the promotion Dana White responsible for their argument with her husband.
Earlier, TMZ posted a video in which Dana White is first slapped by his wife and then hits back multiple times.
“I think his wife is completely wrong to hit a public person in a public place. This is false, she provoked this conflict. It was a mistake on Dana’s part to not be able to hold back and hit her as well, but given his comment, I see no reason to condemn him. He himself realized his mistake. I would have done the exact same thing in his place. He’s not some kind of left-wing uncle, to beat him up like that in public, whether you’re family or not. Normal people don’t resolve their conflicts in public. Doing it is very primitive, and it speaks of bad manners. Whatever your emotions, you need to withdraw, understand the situation and already resolve the conflict at home. In general, his wife somehow acted too harsh on him,” Alekseeva said.
Dana White commented on the incident, saying there could be no justification for the act. The couple have been married for more than 25 years, and since 2001 White has run the UFC promotion, retaining the presidency even after the company passed from owner Zuffa to holding company WME-IMG.
