Usman Nurmagomedov and seven other lightweights to compete in Bellator Grand Prix

Russian mixed martial artist Usman Nurmagomedov will defend Bellator championship belt in knockout tournament, team manager tells Khabiba Nurmagomedova Rizvan Magomedov.

The next fights for lightweight Usman Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s second cousin, will be in the Grand Prix tournament. The Russian fighter won the belt on November 18, 2022, defeating Patricka Freire by judges’ decision in a five-round bout. As of now, Usman, 24, is undefeated in 16 professional fights.

– Now there will be a lightweight Grand Prix. Eight fighters will take part: Usman, Benson Henderson, Shabliy, Tofig Musaev, Mansur Barnaui, Patricio Freire, I could have forgotten someone else, Magomedov told .

Earlier, Russian fighter Vadim Nemkov took part in the tournament of a similar format as the organization’s champion. On November 18, in the G8 tournament final, Nemkov defeated Corey Anderson and defended the light heavyweight championship belt. According to the terms, the winner received a prize of one million dollars.
