The WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight boxing champion believes that this church has nothing to do with Russia.

Originally Ukrainian and nothing to do with Russia. This is how Oleksandr Usyk spoke about UOC.

On his Instagram page, the world boxing champion said that he believes that the Ukrainian Church is enslaved by the Russian Orthodox Church.

“There are many questions about the fact that I am a traitor to my church, faith and the Lord God. Many people ask me to say a word.

I continue to be loyal to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Metropolitan Onufry. And one more thing: I want our UOC to be clean of the scoundrels in it. These are not priests, but people who came to work at the behest of the enemy – the Russian Federation.

The UOC was founded by Prince Vladimir in 988. It has nothing to do with Moscow or the Russian Orthodox Church.

Just once, many years ago, our church was just enslaved by another aggressive nation, which took the church by storm and decided that they will save everyone, and we are all the devil or other people.

I am talking about the Russian people and the state. They all say they are fighting the world, that is a holy war. They just come to a foreign democratic country and kill,” said Usyk.

It will be remembered that earlier the National Security and Defense Council responded to the words about the UOC of another famous Ukrainian boxer, Vasily Lomachenko.
