Administrator Rajaba Butaeva Vadim Kornilov told that the former regular WBA welterweight champion is considering a move to the top middleweight, and his next fight could be in April.
Butaev, 29, has 14 wins (11 by knockout) with the only loss suffered by the boxer in his last fight. In April 2022, the Russian lost to Lithuanian Eimantas Stanionis via split decision and lost the WBA welterweight belt.
– Rajab had weight issues in this fight, as well as health issues. Now that we assess the situation, it is a question of moving to the first middleweight (69.9 kg). The decision has not been made, but we are looking at proposals for the 66 kg and 69 kg. And depending on the proposals we will make a decision. Rajab is now in Indio (USA) preparing for battle. I think in March-April he will return to the ring, there are already discussions about a possible date in April, Kornilov told .
