The UFC has officially announced the heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Gan. Ngannou leaves the belt by giving up his recording contract

UFC President Dana White announces title fight John Jones and Cyril Ghana . The fight is scheduled for March 5 at UFC 285.

White revealed that the fighters will fight for the promotion’s heavyweight title, which was previously held by Francois Ngannou . The Cameroonian failed to agree with the promotion on a new contract. Ngannou is relieved of the title and, as White noted, a fighter can “fight anywhere”.

“We have been negotiating with Ngannou for over two years. We offered Francis a deal that would make him the highest paid heavyweight in the promotion’s history, but he turned it down,” White said.

Jones last entered the octagon in February 2020. Gan lost to Ngannou via unanimous decision last January.
