WBA Russian Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol said he would be a happy man if his unification fight with the owner of fellow WBC, IBF, WBO belts was arranged Artur Beterbiev .
Bivol, 32, has 21 wins (11 by knockout) in the professional ring. Bivol, due to victories over Mexicans Saul Alvarez and Gilberto Ramirez, has been recognized as the best boxer of 2022 by many publications and organizations, including the WBA. Moreover, the Russian was named the best by pundits.
Earlier, Beterbiev said he would love to fight Bivol.
– Yes, Arthur and I are not friends. They call friends, go visit them, etc. When I joined the national team, Arthur was already a famous boxer. I would really like to get in the ring with him and fight. It’s good that he wants to. I know that. And I want this fight. I will be a very happy person if this fight happens,” Bivol said at a press conference.
Beterbiev will defend his belts on January 28 in London against Briton Anthony Yarde.
