In 2013, the Englishman lost to the Ukrainian in the semi-professional boxing league
British heavyweight Joe Joyce sure I could knock out the unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
In 2013, an Englishman and a Ukrainian fought in the WSB semi-professional league. Usyk won the five-round fight, but Joyce is convinced that a lot has changed since then.
“I will have a lot more skills, Ismael Salas is on my side. With him, we will come up with a plan for the fight, work on the skills, ”said Joyce.
“Before the first fight with Usyk, I didn’t even spar with a southpaw. Styles make fights. I think I would have sped it up.”
Joyce and Usyk were in talks to fight in 2021, but the Ukrainian ended up with a title fight with Anthony Joshua, in which he won the WBA, WBO and IBF belts.
Now Usyk is preparing for a rematch with Joshua, which is scheduled for July 23.
