Former World Heavyweight Title Challenger Dmitry Kudryashov believes that the Briton Anthony Yarde will not be able to overcome Artur Beterbiev.
Beterbiev will defend his WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight titles against mandatory challenger WBO Yard on Jan. 28 in London. The Russian has 18 first wins in 18 fights in the professional ring. Beterbiev defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk by technical knockout in October 2019 and stripped him of his WBC belt. Yard has 23 wins and two losses. Yard is familiar to the Russian viewer from the 2019 fight in Chelyabinsk with Russia’s Sergey Kovalev, in that fight Yard lost earlier than expected.
– Anthony Yarde does not give the impression of being a man capable of beating Artur Beterbiev. The Brit took revenge on Lyndon Arthur, but he’s a completely different boxer from Beterbiev. Single shots from Yard won’t be a problem for Beterbiev. He’s not a hitter. The Brit won’t be helped by his signature protection – the ‘Philadelphia shell’. Anthony won when he worked as the first number. In the duel with Beterbiev, he will have to work second – as a player. I have big doubts about his ability to rebuild, – Metaratings.ru quotes Kudryashov.
